Ankh Su Di's little story...

Today I opened my eyes again, and my bodies began to breathe. I instinctively looked for my friends who lied near me all this time, but nobody was awake.

I gave a look to the catacomb, scared to encounter one of the guards of Zathroth, the god that confined us in this cold place of endless pain, but I didn't find any. "Some other God must have beaten him, and confined him definitely in hell", i tought.

As I went outside, I saw the giant Colossus dedicated the 'Sun of the rulers', Ramesses II, toppled in the sand. In front of me the Obelisk that once was the symbol of the power and might of our great nation, destroyed, and also the impressive temple of Osiris, once 33 ft tall, in thousand pieces.

Many years must have been passed since we were confined to the catacombs, and perhaps nothing remained of the world we knew.

I went farther on and saw some deers near a river hunted by a pack of wolves. In the nearby forest, a bear was polishing his bloody claws. On the ground, i spotted a lifeless body of a traveller.

I looked in the river I saw my mummificated face, mutilated and ugly. A snake was biting the rests of my right foot, but I was feeling no pain.

Yes, many, many years have passed, and surely nothing remained of the world we knew, neither myself....

I went back to the catacombs, in search of the books of the ancient wisdom. I saw them last in the hall of mummification, when one of the priests of Zathroth recited from the book of death, and stole the breathe from our bodies, taking our lifes, but not our souls.

"Ah, finally!" I took the book of life, opened all sarcophags, and began to read from it. One by one, my friends returned to live.

"Hello my friend, nice to see you again in this world.", said SHEM TA. "From now on you we will call you NKH SU DI, the one that gave us back life."

This all happened on Monday, the sixth december of the year 1999, local time.
